With two experienced sailors at the helm, two children aged 10 and 12, and two elderly adults aboard, the route is carefully paced to keep everyone comfortable and happy throughout the week. No passage exceeds 20 nautical miles, all overnight stops are at marinas or well-sheltered anchorages, and every day includes at least one dedicated swim and lunch stop in calm, sheltered water. The itinerary loops through the spectacular Göcek island group, crosses into Fethiye Bay to visit the town and its extraordinary Lycian rock tombs, and ventures south to the world-famous Blue Lagoon at Ölüdeniz before returning to Göcek via the historic ruins of Gemiler Island. The waters throughout are among the calmest and most sheltered in the eastern Mediterranean, with reliable summer conditions, superb visibility, and water temperatures that make swimming a genuine delight. This is sailing at its most relaxed and rewarding — more holiday than passage-making, but no less memorable for it.

Crew briefing
Welcome aboard — you are about to spend a week on one of the most beautiful stretches of water in the world. The Turkish Turquoise Coast earns its name: the sea really is that extraordinary shade of blue-green, and you will be swimming in it every single day. Our route takes us through the sheltered bays and islands around Göcek, across to the lively town of Fethiye with its ancient Lycian rock tombs, down to the breathtaking Blue Lagoon at Ölüdeniz, and back via a ruined Byzantine island that some historians believe was the original home of St Nicholas. Passages are short — most days you will be anchored up and in the water before lunchtime, and safely berthed at a marina before the heat of the afternoon fades. We depart each morning around 08:00 while the water is flat calm and the air is cool, stop for a swim and lunch mid-morning, and reach our evening destination early enough to enjoy a relaxed afternoon ashore. There is no night sailing, no rough weather passages, and plenty of time to simply sit in the cockpit and enjoy the scenery. For our younger crew members: the snorkelling is world class, keep an eye out for sea turtles (loggerheads do pass through these waters), and there are paragliders landing on the beach at Ölüdeniz which is quite a sight. For our senior crew members: every overnight stop has easy boarding access, stable flat water, and good shore facilities close at hand. Pack light, bring plenty of suncream, stay hydrated, and get ready for a week you will not forget.
