Cookie and storage notice

Under § 25 (2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG, storing or reading information on your device does not need consent when it is strictly necessary to provide a service you asked for. Everything below falls in that category. If we ever add anything else, such as analytics, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.

• sb-… (several): Keeps you signed in after you log in (Supabase sign-in session). Lifetime: While you stay signed in; removed when you sign out.
• sailed_pass: Proves that you recently passed the bot check before generating a trail without an account. Lifetime: 1 hour.
• crew-theme: Remembers light or dark mode on the crew trip page. Lifetime: 1 year.

• Trail draft: Saves the trail you are working on in your browser so you do not lose it before you sign in or save.
• Generator form: Keeps what you typed in the trail prompt.
• Map and view preferences: Remembers the map style, list or map view, and region cards you picked.
• Crew seat: On the crew page, remembers which seat you claimed on this device and its secret, so you can come back to it without an account.

You can clear all of this in your browser settings. Doing so signs you out and forgets your claimed crew seat.

Maps and some photos are loaded straight from the servers of our map and image providers, which therefore see your IP address. When you ask for a trail without an account, the Cloudflare Turnstile bot check runs in your browser and may store technical data it needs to do its job.
